My Candy Cap flavor kombucha won "Most Unique" at this years Freestone Fermentation Festival !!
It is made with locally collected candy cap mushrooms which grow under live oak.
We collected them up in the Oakland Hills.
The fascinating thing about candy cap mushrooms is that when dried they smell of maple syrup!!
They can be added to cookies, ice cream, and even cheese cake.
When added to kombucha they add a delightful light taste of maple, reminiscent of cream soda.
